I am tempted to look at what’s cut back and eliminated. Saying the cup’s half-empty and maybe there won’t be enough. Instead I’m choosing gratitude. I choose to say, “thank you for water, for cups, for ice ...” As I count my blessings I know I am provided for and held. Even in uncertain times - maybe especially then - I can lean into the arms that shelter me.

Fear makes us cower in corners, dimly letting ourselves connect. We cover and keep ourselves from harm and in the meantime we keep ourselves from connecting, blessing, and making a difference.

These are dark times. We all need the light.

I am reminded of some deep words of comfort - words that have given me solace in many dark days. They are the words of Frances de Sales. He reminds me that I need not capitulate to fear. The same God who has seen me through all my days holds me now. He is with me - and with you.
.
Fear not. That’s what He constantly and consistently whispers.
.
So let’s be the light in this uncertain season. Sharing, giving, praying, and hoping.

Ok, yes, I love it more at Royer’s Pie Haven in Round Top, with a scoop of Blue Bell ice cream, but listen to this! My husband said it might be the best berry pie he’s ever eaten.
